"Good Servant"

This illustration was based on playing the Dresden Files tabletop rpg. Although she was an original character, I would consider this fanart for the Dresden Files book series by Jim Butcher (one of my fiance's favorites. He was also our storyteller for the game.) She is a weretiger who devoutly served a white court vampire. The drawing was based on a sculpture and a drawing I did from a live model in figure drawing class.

I love that this piece brings trust and loyalty into question, at least in my mind. Like many pets, the very nature of this character can make her fierce, as evidenced by her tiger stripes. The game took place in Las Vegas, so the tiger seemed particularly fitting. She, like any wild animal, is not a typical pet, and the vampire takes chances just by having her around. This is also a rare portrait of peace, considering that she acts like a mob enforcer when she's not lounging by her mistress.
